Phone service slamming

Slamming is an abusive practice that occurs when your phone service provider is changed without you authorizing it. This is already a common practice so you'll have to be careful.

In order to avoid this always check your phone bill thoroughly. If your bill comes from other company than that of your choice call them and ask them to fix the problem. Also inform them that you will not pay the bill.

In case you find out you have been slammed you have the right to refuse paying the bill to the company that has done this to you. For more info on your rights visit the FCC website.
